A simple, conservative privacy policy for Proof.
Proof is a small static product site for a downloadable review widget. We try to collect as little personal information as practical, and we do not offer a hosted customer dashboard. This page explains, in plain language, what information may be collected when you visit the site, contact us, or buy the product.

What this policy covers
This policy applies to the Proof website at proof.auditpatterns.com, the downloadable Proof product, and support communications related to the product. It does not create any promise about any specific legal framework or certification. It is intended as a baseline description of current practices and may be updated over time as the product evolves.
Information we may collect
- Basic website usage data, such as page views, referral information, device/browser details, and approximate interaction events.
- Information you choose to send us directly, such as your name, email address, or the contents of a support email.
- Purchase-related details needed to fulfill an order, such as contact information, transaction metadata, and confirmation details provided by our payment processor.
- Technical logs used to keep the site secure, diagnose issues, and prevent abuse.
How we use information
- To operate the site and deliver the product you purchased.
- To respond to support requests and customer questions.
- To understand which pages and calls to action are working so we can improve the site.
- To detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems.
- To comply with legal obligations when required.
Payments and third-party services
Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Stripe. We do not claim to store full payment card numbers on this site. When you purchase Proof, payment and order systems may send us limited order and contact information so we can confirm the purchase, deliver files, and provide support.
We may also use third-party services for website analytics, email delivery, hosting, and related operations. Those providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy notices.
Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies
The site may use analytics tools, cookies, or similar technologies to understand traffic and site usage. These tools can help us measure page visits, button clicks, and other basic interactions. If you block cookies or analytics scripts in your browser, some measurement features may not work as expected.
Product data and customer content
Proof is primarily a downloadable product that customers configure locally. The review text, names, and other content you choose to place into the widget are generally under your control. We do not provide a hosted account dashboard where that content is stored for you as part of normal use.
How long information may be retained
We may keep business records, support messages, technical logs, and purchase metadata for as long as reasonably useful for operations, support, bookkeeping, legal compliance, security, or dispute resolution. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the systems involved.
How information may be shared
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary course of operating this product. We may share information with service providers that help us run the site or fulfill orders, or when sharing is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, investigate misuse, comply with law, or complete a business transfer.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational measures intended to protect information we control. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can choose not to submit information through email or purchase forms, though some information may be necessary to complete a transaction or receive support. You can also use browser settings or extensions to limit cookies, analytics, and similar tracking technologies.
Children
Proof is not directed to children, and we do not intend to knowingly collect personal information from children through this site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we may revise the date at the top of the page and publish the updated version here. Continued use of the site after changes means the updated policy will apply going forward.
